Oman’s Foreign Ministry has expressed the Sultanate’s support for the outcome of a summit of the countries neighbouring Sudan, held yesterday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.<\/p>\n
The summit called on the parties in the conflict in the Republic of Sudan to abide by a ceasefire and end the fighting in order to prevent bloodshed and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n
The summit also declared full respect for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and for the principle of non-interference in its internal affairs.<\/p>\n
The Ministry said Oman appreciated the work led by President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt to hold the summit<\/a> to support efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful solution that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for security and stability and to preserve their capabilities and the gains they have made.<\/p>\n
