The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in London today held a launch ceremony for a historical documentary film titled “Treasures of Oman”.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Abdullah Nasser Al Harassi, Minister of Information.<\/p>\n

The documentary travels through The Sultanate from the Hajar mountains to Dhofar, exploring the various civilisations and cultures that Oman has witnessed over thousands of years,<\/p>\n

Presented by Professor Bettany Hughes, an award winning historian, author and broadcaster, the film tells the story of how Oman became a society that grew rich by mining and selling copper.<\/p>\n

The film is being shown on the BBC World Channel and Channel 4, a public broadcasting television channel in the UK.<\/p>\n
