The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Foreign Ministry, took part in the Raisina Dialogue 2023, as part of Oman\u2019s participation in G20 meetings being held at the Indian capital, New Delhi.<\/p>\n

Oman\u2019s delegation to the dialogue was headed by Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.<\/p>\n

Sayyid Badr spoke at a panel discussion entitled “A Region of Opportunities: From the Mediterranean to the Arabian Sea.” The discussion addressed challenges and opportunities for the region with regard to energy dynamics, climate change and regional and international cooperation.<\/p>\n

\"OMAN-AT-RAISINA-DIALOGUE\"<\/p>\n

In his speech, Sayyid Badr highlighted the geopolitical importance of the Middle East region. He also spoke about the lucrative opportunities for the region and the world created by the transition from an economy based on fossil energy sources such as oil and gas, to a modern economy based on renewable, clean energy. The Minister affirmed that through constructive cooperation between countries, organisations and research institutions, the potential of these promising opportunities can be realised.<\/p>\n

Sayyid Badr underscored the importance of intensifying international efforts to tackle the challenges of climate change, to reduce carbon emissions, to invest in renewable energy and green hydrogen and to encourage innovation in these fields in order to spur growth and stability.<\/p>\n

He called on everyone to take advantage of the great and promising opportunities provided by the renewable energy sector and Oman\u2019s commitment to the sector, highlighting the facilities Oman offers to attract renewable energy investments. The dialogue was attended by Issa Saleh Alshibani, Oman’s Ambassador to India; Pankaj Khimji, Adviser for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Chief Coordinator for Oman’s participation in the G20 meetings; Ambassador Khalid Al Muslahi, Head of the Minister\u2019s Office and various Foreign Ministry officials.<\/p>\n
