{"id":4228,"date":"2022-11-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/4228\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T11:12:51","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T11:12:51","slug":"his-majesty-presides-over-52nd-national-day-military-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/en\/4228\/","title":{"rendered":"His Majesty presides over 52nd National Day Military Parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, presided over a military parade staged at Al Nasr Square in the Governorate of Dhofar today on the occasion of the 52nd Glorious National Day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22069 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/wp-content\/uploads\/221118His-Majesty-presides-over-52nd-National-day-parade.jpeg\" alt=\"His-Majesty-presides-over-52nd-National-day-parade\" width=\"1000\" height=\"501\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The event saw the participation of symbolic units representing the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO), the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO), the Sultan\u2019s Special Force (SSF), the Royal Oman Police (ROP), ground and mounted military music bands, as well as Firaq Forces.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.omannews.gov.om\/images\/topics\/story-images\/63778a6361350.jpeg\" data-filename=\"\u0627\u0644\u0639\u0631\u0636 2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Upon His Majesty\u2019s arrival at the parade grounds, he was received by His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office and Vice Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan\u2019s Armed Forces(SAF).<\/p>\n<p>When His Majesty the Sultan ascended the Royal dais, columns of the parade performed the military salute. The joint corps of military bands played the Royal Anthem, while the Sultan of Oman\u2019s Artillery fired a 21-gun salute to His Majesty the Sultan.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the parade commander stepped forward, requesting His Majesty to signal the start of the military show.<\/p>\n<p>The joint corps of military bands representing the SAF, the RGO, the ROP and the Royal Court Affairs (RCA) played various tunes as they marched in slow and normal pace before the Royal dais. Then, columns of the Protocols Guard joined the parade and performed ceremonial gestures to the accompaniment of melodies from the joint corps of military bands\u2014performing the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.omannews.gov.om\/images\/topics\/story-images\/63778a63642e8.jpeg\" data-filename=\"\u0627\u0644\u0639\u0631\u0636 4.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, columns of camouflage uniforms, representing the SAF, the RGO, the SSF and the ROP, passed before the Royal dais, performing the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander, to the accompaniment of melodies from the joint corps of military bands.<\/p>\n<p>His Majesty watched a musical show staged by mounted bands representing the RGO and the Royal Cavalry. They passed before the Royal dais, performing the military salute to His Majesty the Sultan.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.omannews.gov.om\/images\/topics\/story-images\/63778a6365c6d.jpeg\" data-filename=\"\u0627\u0644\u0639\u0631\u0636 5.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Then, His Majesty watched a presentation by the RAO\u2019s Firaq Forces. They chanted lyrics of allegiance and gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan as they passed before the Royal dais and gave the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander.<\/p>\n<p>Later, the columns of the parade performed an ensemble of cheers that proclaimed \u201cFaith in Allah, Loyalty to the Sultan, Sacrifice for the Nation\u201d. They chanted three times \u201cLong Live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander\u201d. Then, the joint corps of military bands played the Royal Anthem, while the columns of the parade performed the military salute marking the conclusion of the military show.<\/p>\n<p>On this occasion, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, received a commemorative gift from the valiant armed forces. His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs had the honour of presenting the gift.
