The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore today signed two memoranda of understanding in the fields of culture, youth and economic development.<\/p>\n

The agreements were signed as part of a state visit currently being undertaken by His Majesty the Sultan to Singapore.<\/p>\n

The first memorandum between the\u00a0Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth\u00a0and the\u00a0Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth\u00a0in the two countries concerns strengthening cooperation in various areas including cultural programmes and projects, and joint theatre and cinema workshops. The agreement also aims to support translation and publishing initiatives to facilitate the publication of literary works by authors in both countries, and to facilitate the exchange of information related to the protection of copyright, cultural heritage and cultural identity.<\/p>\n

The second memorandum between the\u00a0Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion\u00a0and the\u00a0Singapore Cooperation Enterprise\u00a0\u00a0is concerned with strengthening and encouraging cooperation in investment promotion, facilitating trade and export procedures, developing small, medium and industrial enterprises, and enhancing the Oman and Singapore national brand identities globally.<\/p>\n

The agreements were signed on behalf of the Government of Oman by Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion, and\u00a0Anwar bin Ahmed Mohammed Muqaibal, Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Singapore.\u00a0For the Government of Singapore, they were signed by Edwin Tong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, and Wy Mun Kong, Chief Executive of the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
