{"id":10890,"date":"2023-11-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-28T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/10890\/"},"modified":"2023-11-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T00:00:00","slug":"oman-at-conference-on-prohibiting-chemical-weapons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/en\/10890\/","title":{"rendered":"Oman at conference on prohibiting chemical weapons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 28th session of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opcw.org\/calendar\/csp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Conference of the States Parties to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons<\/a>, which commenced in The Hague with the attendance of all member states of the Organisation.<\/p>\n<p>The Omani delegation at the session, which started on November 27th and continues until December 1st, was headed by Dr <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.ofm-archive.com\/the-hague\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abdullah bin Salem bin Hamad Alharthy, Oman&#8217;s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands<\/a> and its Permanent Representative to the Organisation.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference discussed ways to enhance international cooperation in chemical activities. The current session&#8217;s president, vice-presidents, and members of the Organisation&#8217;s Executive Council were elected. The Organisation&#8217;s budget and programme for the coming year were approved, along with the report of the external auditor and amendments to some financial and administrative regulations. Additionally, the Organisation&#8217;s annual report on the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention for the year 2023 was discussed.<\/p>\n<p>This is an unofficial English version of an Arabic report.
