{"id":10522,"date":"2023-10-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/10522\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T11:23:12","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T11:23:12","slug":"foreign-minister-meets-maltese-foreign-minister-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/en\/10522\/","title":{"rendered":"Foreign Minister meets Maltese Foreign Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staging.ofm-archive.com\/ministry\/about-us\/key-figures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman<\/a>, met with <a href=\"https:\/\/foreign.gov.mt\/minister\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dr Ian Borg, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta<\/a>, within the framework of the Joint Ministerial Council meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union which is being held in Muscat.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, they reviewed areas of cooperation between Oman and Malta and agreed on a mutual desire to expand cooperation, especially in the fields of tourism and investment. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-36281 size-fusion-800\" src=\"https:\/\/archive.fm.gov.om\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/\/MATA2.jpeg\" alt=\"Sayid-Bader-With-the-Maltese-Foreign-Minister\" width=\"800\" height=\"519\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A memorandum of understanding was also signed on cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies of the two countries. This allows the two sides to work jointly in training and research.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was attended by Ambassador Munther Almandhari, Head of theForeign Ministry&#8217;s Europe Department; Hashil Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omran.om\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omran Group<\/a>\u00a0and a number of officials from Oman and Malta.<\/p>\n<p>This is an unofficial English version of an Arabic report.
