The Foreign Ministry has expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s welcome for the announcement by Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, that the ceasefire in the  Republic of Yemen is to be renewed for two months.

The Ministry appreciates the response of the Yemeni parties to the efforts of the United Nations.

Oman hopes that this important step will create the appropriate conditions for ending the war and reaching a comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Yemeni crisis.
