The Sultanate of Oman participated in the opening of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York with a delegation headed by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi.

The first session was attended by António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations; Dennis Francis, President of the current session and leaders and ministers representing the 193 member states of the United Nations.
