In a ceremony held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo this morning, retired Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah received the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun from His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan.

The award is in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to the development of friendly relations between Japan and the Sultanate of Oman. The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun is Japan’s highest honour awarded to foreign dignitaries.
